Shottle Hall Wedding – James & Sophie

I only met James and Sophie a few weeks before the wedding so most of the planning for the day was done electronically. It was really nice to get to finally meet them and they were both really friendly and helpful. They were a lovely couple and were really looking forward to their magical day. I was there for the full day which meant I could capture every precious moment.

The Venue

The wedding took place at one of Derbyshire’s premier venues, Shottle Hall. This impressive Victorian country manor is part of the famous Chatsworth Estate. You can certainly tell – it exudes the same English charm. The house is set in beautiful landscaped gardens and fourteen acres of idyllic Derbyshire parkland. It is a well-established venue which really makes a difference as the staff all understand how to make the day perfect. A

t Shottle Hall, the specialist wedding coordinators really go the extra mile to make sure everything goes beautifully. It is a bonus that the Hall offers accommodation so your guests can really let their hair down and stay the night. It was a perfect Autumnal day for James and Sophie, which meant we managed to use the beautiful grounds for some gorgeous location shots, making the most of the spells of sunshine.

The Wedding

There was something very English about Jamie and Sophie’s Derbyshire wedding, from the bride’s beautiful dress to the moving speeches. It had a very traditional feel which felt really romantic. The beautiful countryside surrounding the venue added to this, as did the glamorous guests. A really lovely moment was when the bride and groom exchanged beautiful, thoughtful gifts which just showed how well they know each other. It was a real honour being part of your beautiful day Jamie and Sophie. Another wedding to make me really love my job!
