The West Mill Wedding Venue, Derby – Charlotte and Guy

_{How can we best describe the wedding of Charlotte and Guy at The West Mill Wedding Venue in Derbyshire? Well, we should probably start by describing the difficulty we had holding the camera still during the speeches as we were shaking with laughter.}

From the moment we first met Charlotte and Guy, we knew they would have an amazing wedding and it didn’t disappoint us! We met the bride and groom the day before the wedding at a pub in the heart of Derby and although my Brazilian wife was somewhat distracted by the Brazil V Belgium game showing on the TV, we managed to have a nice couple of hours getting to know the couple and getting a better understanding of what they were looking for in their wedding package. Charlotte and Guy are such a nice couple, warm and friendly and we quickly felt like friends.

The Coach House

On the morning of the wedding, we went to photograph the bride and her bridesmaids at The Coach House. What a lively bunch they turned out to be! It was lovely to see them all getting ready together and so touching to see all of the little thoughtful gestures and gifts Charlotte had arranged for them.

For us, one of the highlights of the day was meeting Charlotte’s children who really brightened the day. We could tell that this was going to be a really fun wedding!

The West Mill Wedding Venue

The West Mill Wedding venue is one of the most popular venues in Derbyshire and it is easy to see why. This beautiful Grade 1 listed building nestled on the side of the river provides a stunning backdrop and we were blessed with absolutely gorgeous weather, so

we were able to take full advantage of it. We love photographing at the Mill; not only is it on our doorstep, we also love the industrial style of this old building with its large windows allowing us to create amazing photos with lots of natural light. The grounds and walks around Darley Abby are also special to us and we love a Sunday stroll there looking for little spots to use in the future.

The Wedding

The wedding itself was simply beautiful; a very relaxed affair where people were not afraid to let their feelings show and everyone got thoroughly caught up in the emotion of the day. The bride and groom made sure the day was exactly what they wanted it to be – a day to truly celebrate their love surrounded by their family and friends. Charlotte and Guy made us feel so very welcome and we both felt very lucky to have been part of this gorgeous couple’s special day.
